The European Commission has approved the registration appplication of two French products on the list of protected denominations of origin (PDOs) and of protected geographical indications (PGIs): one of them is the PGI "Porc du Sud-Ouest": meat that comes from pigs fed mainly with dent maize and other cereals in the regions of Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrénées, and Poitou-Charentes.
