The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) has confirmed the first case of H1N1 in Germany's swine herd.

The swine herd, with 420 susceptibles animals and 2 cases, is located in the Rhineland-Palatinate.

According to an EU-agreement animals in the establishment are isolated until 7 days after disappearance of clinical signs. After that they can be moved for trade or slaughter.
