The National Reference Laboratory has confirmed a positive case of African swine fever (ASF) in a wild boar that was hunted on January 26 in Königswartha, Commerau district. To assess the epidemic situation, carcass searches are currently being conducted in the area with the help of drones. Further measures will be coordinated depending on the results of the search.

As the site is already in exclusion zone 2 (danger zone), the protective measures prescribed there continue to apply without restrictions. Reducing the restriction zones, planned for April 2025, is no longer feasible due to the new outbreak.
