ASF Germany: Over 1000 cases confirmed in wild boar

The total number of African swine fever cases in Brandenburg and Saxony now stands at 1016.

Seven months after the first outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in the wild boar population in Germany, a total of 1,016 cases have been confirmed.

Currently, there are 108 confirmed cases in Saxony and in Brandenburg there are 908 total cases:

  • District of Spree-Neisse: 72
  • District of Oder-Spree: 528
  • District of Märkisch-Oderland: 237
  • District of Dahme-Spreewald: 49
  • Frankfurt (Oder): 22

To date, the domestic pig population in Germany remains free of ASF.
