Germany: the pig meat production decrease goes on

According to the data of the German Statistics Office published by the ISN, the pig meat production in Germany has decreased during the third quarter of this year. The production in terms of carcass weight reached 1.35 million tons, and this means a fall by 5.5% with respect to the previous year.

During the first nine months of this year 1 million less pigs were slaughtered than during last year, and this represents a decrease by 2.4%. The pig meat production during this period was a 2.7% lower than during 2011.
