According to the Group of Processors of the National Association of Meat Industries of Spain (ANICE), in 2015 Spain exported 53,506 tonnes of cured sausages: an important increase by 22%, with France, UK, Belgium, Germany, Portugal and The Netherlands as the main clients, but with imporant rises in the case of third countries such as Chile, USA or Mexico.
In turn, in the case of cured hams and forelegs, the exports amounted 52,256 tonnes in 2015: 16% more than in 2014. The main importers are the UE countries, mainly France, Germany, Portugal, Italy and UK, but the exports to third countries are rising favourably, especially to Mexico, Japan, Chile, USA and Australia.
Regarding cold meats, Spain exported 11.409 tonnes in 2015 (+9% with respect to 2014, and +24% with respect to 2011), Portugal, France, Lebanon, the Congo, UK, Greece, Andorra and Equatorial Guinea being the main destinations.
