The Brazilian pork exports during the first semester of 2017 (taking into account all the products, including fresh meat and processed products) reached a value of USD814.7 million: +28.5% than in the same period in 2016, when USD633.8 million were reached. This is the best half-year performance in terms of value in the last 5 years.
In terms of tonnes, the accumulated figure in the first six months of 2017 reached 343.3 thousand tonnes: -2.8% lower than the figure reached in the same period in 2016, with 353.3 thousand tonnes.
The non-EU European countries still are the main destination, with 138,600 tonnes between January and June: +13.5% with respect to the first six months in 2016. The second place is held by Asia, that imported 118.4 thousand tonnes: -22.3% with respect to the same period in 2016.
