Spain: Growth in pork production slows

Despite the record increase in pork production and value, annual growth stands at 3.82%, below the 8% increase in 2020.

Spanish pork production continued to increase during 2021, reaching 5,194,435 tons, surpassing the previous year's record.

Although production has increased 3.82% from 2020, the pace of growth has slowed, falling below the almost 8% increase in 2020.

The number of animals slaughtered reached 58,499,719 head, 4.22% more than in 2020. In relation to the carcass weight of 88.79 kg, there is a slight decrease compared to 2020.
