Haiti has reported an outbreak of African swine fever virus to the OIE. The outbreak started on August 25 near the border with the Dominican Republic, in the city of Anse-à-Pitre, on a backyard holding with 25 susceptible animals. This is the first case of ASF reported in Haiti since 1984.
