With only 3% of the harvested area of first crop soybeans, and from the areas most favored by the rains, the yield averaged 4.4 t/ha. The retention of green leaves is observed in fields highly affected by the heat and quality problems are observed in fields harvested in areas with excess. Meanwhile, 18% of the early corn area has been harvested.
In south-central Santa Fe, there are fields with grains ready to harvest, but with green leaves retained on the plants. These are lots that were very affected by the heat wave. In addition, grains affected by fungus are being observed. There, the yield expectation is between 3.8 and 4 t/ha.
In Carlos Pellegrini and Totoras, 5% of the area was harvested and yields averaged 5 t/ha. In the region of El Trébol, one of the areas with the best results this year, 10% of the area was harvested with yields ranging from 5 to 5.9 t/ha. Towards the south of Santa Fe, leaves are just yellowing. On the other hand, in Bigand, they warn about end-of-cycle disease problems in areas with excessive humidity and quality problems in the few harvested fields (stained grains, green grains, and grains damaged by rains). There they are yielding between 4 and 4.5 t/ha. In northeastern Buenos Aires, only very few fields were harvested- those planted very early. In southeastern Cordoba, 7% of the first soybean area was harvested, yielding an average of 4.2 to 4.5 t/ha.
The corn harvest is 30% behind the last five seasons. In the last week, only 7% of the area was harvested, covering a total of 18% of the early corn area. In total, 160,000 ha have been harvested in the region, almost 30% below the average of the last five seasons. Yields remain uneven, but the average is between 10 and 10.5 t/ha.
