The Spanish pork exports to Vietnam grew by 53.7% in 2018, with a total of 13,004 tonnes, this entailing an invoicing of €11.2 million: 34% more than in 2017, according to the latest data by DATACOMEX produced by the White Pig Interprofessional Association (Interprofesional del Porcino de Capa Blanca, INTERPORC).

The Vietnamese pork market is very relevant at a world level because it is the fifth greatest market in terms of global consumption, and the fifth Asian market in terms of consumption per capita, behind China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea.

The Vietnamese pork market is a quite interesting market for the Spanish products due to the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between the EU and Vietnam; as well as the positive trend in the consumption of this kind of meats in the market, that is expected to have a growth rate that exceeds 6% per year.
