Increase in ASF cases in wild boars in Hungary

Since the confirmation of the first ASF case in the country, 6 animals have already been affected by the disease.

The WOAH-OIE has published a new report confirming 2 new ASF outbreaks affecting 4 wild boars in Hungary.

The affected animals have been found in Pálosvörösmart and in Mátrafüred, in Heves.

By the end of April, the disease was notified for the first time in Hungary, and since then there have been 6 confirmed cases.

Hungary confirms the presence of the ASF virus in a new county

The affected animal has been found in Borsod-Abauj-Zemplen, in the north of the country.

African swine fever (ASF) has been confirmed in a dead wild boar found in Hungary, a few kilometres away from the border with Ukraine.
