Increase in pig slaughterings in Spain

In the first 11 months of 2018, pig slaughterings grew by almost 5%.

The data of the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the pig slaughterings between January and November 2018 show an increase by 4.84% in the number of pigs slaughtered with respect to the same period in 2017, going from 46,072,255 animals in 2017 to 48,300,591 in 2018.

We must highlight an increase in slaughterings by more than 12% in Aragon and in Castile and Leon. Catalonia still is the autonomous community with the largest number of pig slaughterings, with a total of 20,762,735 heads in the first 11 months of 2018.
