According to the information published the Ministry of Agriculture of Spain in its foreign news gazette, the Central Americans are eating more and more pork. The pork demand in Costa Rica went from 11 kg per capita in 2014 to 13 kg per capita in 2015, according to the figures of the Costa Rican Pig Producers Association (Caporc). In El Salvador, the figures doubled from 2011 to 2014 (they grew by 133%), reaching 3.5 kg. In Honduras, in 2014, they consumed 4 kg per capita, in Guatemala 7 kg, and in Nicaragua 2 kg.
