India confirms 11 ASF outbreaks in two states

India reported outbreaks of ASF in the states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Indian health authorities have notified the OIE about developments in the country's ASF situation. According to the data reported by the veterinary authorities, the disease was first detected in January.

There are currently 11 confirmed outbreaks, 9 in the state of Assam and 2 in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, with a total of 10,920 susceptible animals and 4,199 cases.

According to information from the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture reporting on the world health situation, recently, new suspected cases are beginning to be reported of wild boar found dead in the district of Siang, in the region of Arunachal Pradesh, where outbreaks had occurred on pig farms. In total, six wild boar carcasses have been found in a forest in the district and samples have been taken for analysis at the country's national reference laboratory.
