Last year, "Prosciutto di Modena" (Modena ham) had an increase in production by 50% with respect to the previous year.
In 2013, a total amount of 75,000 legs were produced in comparison with 50,000 legs in 2012.
The production area of the "Prosciutto di Modena" corresponds to the chain of hills and valleys situated around the orographic basin of river Panaro, which includes the provinces of Bologna and Reggio Emilia, where the different stages of production are carried out.
