Kenya – OIE reports an outbreak of African swine fever

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received immediate notification on Fraiday, 4 March.

According to the report, the outbreaks are located in Kisumu East (Nyanza) and Mahiakalo (Kakamega Central, Western). A total of 356 animals have been found susceptible to the disease, out of which 200 cases were reported. All susceptible animals were destroyed.

Farms affected are those of subsistence farmers around built-up areas and feeding swill.
