According to the data published by the Danish Agriculture and Food Council regarding the main fresh and frozen pork exporters to China, the largest exporter in 2018 was Germany, with a total of 228,371 tonnes (+7.8%), beating Spain, that exported 219,626 tonnes (-7.5%) and dropped to the second position. They were followed by Canada (160,260 tonnes) and Brazil, that exported more than 150,000 tonnes, with an increase by 200% with respect to 2017, when the exports reached 48,716 tonnes. The USA, that holds the fifth position, only exported 85,650 tonnes, half the amount than in 2017.
Regarding the exports to Hong Kong, the main fresh and frozen pork supplier was Brazil, with a total of 112,060 tonnes (+10.5%), followed by China (38,732 tonnes, -21.7%), USA (29,846 tonnes, -50.6%), The Netherlands (15,521 tonnes, -36.7%) and Germany (13,024 tonnes, -68.4%).
