Following the entry of African swine fever into the Americas with the confirmation of the disease in the Dominican Republic, a total of 22 national organizations from 18 Latin American countries virtually formed a continental committee to discuss strategies to prevent ASF in the region.
The ASF LatAm Crisis Committee will work collaboratively to strengthen health advocacy in the continent at the private level.

One of the initiatives was the establishment of a multinational community and intra-sectoral awareness campaign on the importance of preventive care in different areas. With the name #TodosContraLaPPA (#AllAgainstASF) the campaign will be launched shortly and involve actions with producers and social and government leaders from the different areas of the nations involved.
