Last year, the Estonians consumed five kilograms less meat per capita than in 2008 when the figure reached an all-time peak of 76 kilograms per person, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Consumption of beef had declined the most over the two-year period, while chicken has become a more popular article on the Estonian menu. Pork, however, has remained the most favored meat, with 34 kilograms per resident consumed last year.
