According to the latest data provided by Eurostat, as of November 2018, the accumulated yearly pork production was 21.9 million tonnes, this entailing an increase by 2.8% with respect to the same period in 2017 (+605,700 tonnes).
The first pork producer in the EU is still Germany, with 4,9 million tonnes (-1.6%), followed by Spain, with 4.16 million tonnes (+6.7%), France (2.0 million tonnes, +0.6%), Poland (1.9 million tonnes, +5.2%) and Denmark (1.47 million tonnes, +6.9%).

We must highlight the increases in some Eastern Europe countries, such as Romania (+12%), Slovakia (+18%), Bulgaria (+11%) and Latvia (+9%).
