Exports
- Pork export volume in the January-November 2023 period decreased by 9.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, from 219,738 to 198,105 tons (t).
- Export value (USD 765.5 million) decreased by 13.0% and the average export price was USD 3864/t.
- Shipments to China totaled just 1,749 tons from January - November 2023.
Imports
- Pork imports consolidated in the first 11 months of the year reached 1,442,109 t, an increase of 3.5% compared to the same period in 2022.
- The total value of imports reached USD 2980 million, resulting in an implicit price of USD 2066/t and representing an increase of 0.1% over the average recorded in the same period of the previous year (USD 2063/t). The processing industry's demand is driving imports despite the increase in prices.
- Approximately 18,000 tons of product from South America have been imported from Chile and more than 20,000 tons from Brazil.
