Exports
- Mexican export volumes for the January-October period decreased 12.4% compared to the same period of the previous year, from 200,682 to 175,747 tons.
- The value of these exports (Million USD 696.8) fell by 13.4% and the average export price was USD 3965/ton.
- Shipments to the Chinese market account for only 1640 tons so far this year.
Imports
- Pork imports consolidated in the first 10 months of the year totaled 1,301,123 tons, an increase of 4.3% compared to the same period of 2022.
- The total value of these was Million USD 2679.5, resulting in an implicit price of USD 2059/ton, an increase of 1.7% over the average recorded in the same period of the previous year (USD 2024/ton).
- Demand from the processing industry drives imports despite rising prices.
- To date, 16,100 tons of product from South America have been imported from Chile and 17,900 tons from Brazil.
