The National Service of Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality (SENASICA), during a meeting in its headquarters, presented the project to the agricultural advisers of the embassies of Germany, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Belize, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, Spain, the USA, France, Guatemala, Italy, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Poland, the UK and Switzerland.

The goal of this network is to have convenient information that helps to raise the health protection levels in the different countries, as well as exchanging data to reduce the risk of the spreading of pests and diseases that could affect the agricultural, aquaculture and fishing production of the participating countries.

The director-in-chief of the SENASICA, Mr Enrique Sánchez Cruz, pointed out that this tool is based on mutual trust and can be used to exchange useful information that supports the decisions made, as well as to provide more tools for the safe trade of agricultural products between the countries.

We must highlight that Mexico opened the doors to the world and that it is willing to establish agreement and information mechanisms to build a strong framework based on confidence that supports the the negotiations of health protocols of any kind, and that there is information available on the subjects that will facilitate the process.

The SAGARPA's representative remarked that real information is needed for the exchange between the participant countries, so it is necessary to provide training to the technicians, because there must be a mutual trust in the information systems used.

The directions of the SAGARPA's Minister, Mr Baltazar Hinojosa Ochoa, are to progress in the task of feeding the people in our countries with healthy and safe products, so it is essential to work coordinately and permanently with our counterparts in the world.

With the creation of the International Network, he added, we will consolidate a strong and solid information mechanism that provides the information needed to carry on agreeing on protocols and to encourage the exports of products from the land and the sea.
