According to the National Health Service, Food Safety and Food Quality (SENASA), Mexican meat exports to Japan nearly doubled in 2011, reaching 70,000,134 tons, compared to 38,000,176 that were exported to the country in 2010.
With exports of more than 48 thousand tons of pork products, and about 20 000 tons of cattle in 2011, Japan has become a major destination for Mexican meat.
Sold were frozen and refrigerated pork cuts, and products such as toungue and processed products such as bacon, chilorio, roasted suckling pig and gravy.
