The volume of Mexican pig meat exports rose by 7.02% during year 2013 in comparison with the previous year, the National Service of Health, Harmlessness and Food and Agriculture Quality (SENASICA) informed. Between January and September 2013 the sales reached 63,056 tonnes, whilst 58,919 tonnes were sold during the same period in 2012.
The main Mexican pig meat consumer is Japan, a country that in 2013 has bought 51,596 tonnes to Mexican producers, and this represents an increase by 15% in comparison with the volume bought during the same period of year 2012, when Japan bought 44,936 tonnes to Mexico.
Until September 30th 2013, Korea has imported 6,150 tonnes of Mexican pig meat products, whilst USA consumed 4,310 tonnes.
Currently, Mexican pig meat producers can sell their products in 32 countries in America, Asia and Europe.
