Mongolia confirms an outbreak of classical swine fever

Dr Batsukh Zayat, Chief Veterinary officer from Mongolian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, has informed the OIE about an outbreak of classical swine fever.

The outbreak is located at a farm in Darkhan soum, Darkhan-ull.

Of the 122 pigs susceptible, the outbreak led to 35 cases, resulting in 35 deaths and 87 destroyed.

This is the first outbreak of the disease since 2003.
