Nepal reports ASF for the first time

On May 18, Nepal reported the first cases of African swine fever in the country to the OIE. There have been six outbreaks so far, affecting a total of 1,426 susceptible animals on farms located in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. The first outbreak is reported to have started on March 30, 2022, with the suspected mode of transmission having been swill feeding.
