In the first half of this year, China imported a total of 510,000 t of pork, which is 45.8% less than during the same period last year, when it reached 940,000 t and well below the record values of 2020 (2,120,000 t of pork) and 2021 (2,300,000 t), as shown in the graph with semester data.
Regarding offal, between January and June of this year, China imported 600,000 t (an increase of 1.69%) and continues the trend that began in November 2023, when for the first time its offal imports were higher in volume than that of pork.

Despite the unfavorable figures, monthly declines in pork and offal imports during the second quarter have been less severe (with an average drop of -20.23% in the second quarter of 2024 compared to the same period of 2023) than those recorded in the first quarter (-36.67%).
