The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Luis Planas, has highlighted the new historical record of Spanish agri-food exports in 2024, with a value of 75,090 million euros, 5.8% more than in the previous year and a positive balance of 19,232 million euros.
The minister attributed this “tremendously positive” balance to the great work done by farmers, livestock breeders, fishermen, the agri-food industry, and cooperatives.

In 2024 the economic growth of the agricultural sector was 8.5%, more than five points above the Spanish economy as a whole. Planas recalled that, within the European Union, Spain has the highest agricultural income at 32,759 million euros, 14.2% more than in 2023. The income per employee also reached an all-time record of 45,980 euros, with an increase of 12.6% over the previous year (9.2% if inflation is deducted).
