This new regulation updates the requirements for obtaining the Sanitary and Safety Authorization for pork producers, establishing the basic conditions for animal health, biosecurity, welfare, good practices for the use of veterinary drugs, and good animal feeding practices, with which producers of food of animal origin destined for human consumption must comply.
The ICA will design a checklist where the criteria to be met will be established, which are classified according to the risk they pose to the safety of the product, thus divided into fundamental, major, and minor.
The Technical Report issued may be favorable or unfavorable as follows:
Favorable: the technical concept will be favorable when the farm complies with 100% of the fundamental criteria, at least 80% of the major criteria, and at least 60% of the minor criteria, in which case the corresponding Sanitary and Safety Authorization of the farm will be issued.
Unfavorable: this concept will be issued when at least one of the following conditions is evidenced; obtaining a level of compliance lower than 100% of the fundamental criteria; or less than 80% of the major criteria; or less than 60% of the minor criteria.
