The European Commission has approved the application to register "Vindelnrökt skinka" as a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).

"Vindelnrökt skinka" is a whole muscle pork ham traditionally hot-smoked in alder wood-fired smokehouses. It is produced in the Västerbotten region of Sweden. The specific characteristics of "Vindelnrökt skinka" are the result of traditional craftsmanship, quality raw materials, and a special smoking process.

This new designation will join the list of 1,693 already protected products available in the eAmbrosia database. For further information, see also the pages on quality policy and GIView.
