The National System of Production, Consumption, and Trade continues to work with producer families in the sector to strengthen productive capacities, improve management practices, and promote sustainability in production, as well as to promote policies and programs to strengthen new enterprises that boost the local economy and the consumption of national products.
According to the Monitoring carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, between January and October 2024, national pork production totaled 27.4 million pounds (approximately 12,428 tonnes), with 242,943 head slaughtered.
Four industrial establishments and 1,277 meat retailers supply the national market.
