Pork is one of the most consumed proteins in Nicaragua and is entirely destined for the domestic market. It serves as an important source of income and employment for Nicaraguan families, with growth potential for new enterprises.
According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, national pork production reached 15,377 tons in 2024, reflecting a 3.4% increase compared to 2023. Of the total production, 70% came from individual slaughter facilities (1,285 distributed across the country), and 30% from four industrial establishments supplied by local farms.
