The veterinary authorities of North Korea have reported to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) the first case of African swine fever (ASF).

The outbreak has been detected on a cooperative farm in Buksang (Chagang-Do), near the border with China, with 99 susceptible animals of which 77 cases.
