Norway presented a new policy that increases remuneration for hunting wild boar and reporting dead or sick wild boar. The goal is to eradicate the wild boar population in Norway in light of African swine fever (ASF) reaching Sweden.

The new rates will be:

  • NOK 3,000 per male animal
  • NOK 5,000 per female animal
  • NOK 4,000 for reporting the discovery of hit, sick, or dead wild boar

As a trial scheme, landowners will also receive NOK 4,000 per wild boar found on their property.
