In the call for proposals launched on February 15, breeders of sows and piglets whose farms are at risk of losing financial liquidity due to restrictions on the agricultural market caused by the COVID-19 pandemic submitted nearly 2,000 applications for aid to ARiMR (Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture). They are applying for support in the amount of almost 74 million PLN.

The subsidy is available to owners of micro, small, or medium-sized enterprises who, as of November 15, 2021, ran a holding keeping pigs and in the period from November 15, 2021 to March 31, 2022 had or will have a minimum of 10 piglets. The marking of these animals must be notified to ARiMR by April 15, 2022.

The amount of support is PLN 1,000 for every 10 piglets - but up to PLN 500 thousand for one pig producer. Producers may submit more than one application for pigs born between November 15, 2021 and March 31, 2022, and the aid per head may only be applied for once.
