Panama: Pig slaughter increases, jumps in September

The number of head slaughtered between January and October has increased by 3% over the same period last year.

According to the latest data published by the National Institute of Statistics and Census of Panama, during the first 10 months of this year a total of 457,017 head of pigs have been slaughtered (provisional data), 3% more than the same period last year, during which a total of 443,872 head were slaughtered.

It is worth noting the 21.4% increase in September compared to the same month last year (54,170 vs. 44,635 head).
