To achieve its objectives, SENASA is present in the 24 departments of the country, with a presence in 1,642 districts nationwide, and has trained personnel in 62 control posts and 180 local offices.

It deploys surveillance and control actions in 1,281,970 hectares, distributed throughout the national territory, protecting the production of potato, corn, mango, avocado, blueberries, citrus, quinoa, and many more foods produced in the coast, highlands, and jungle.

In addition, electronic certification has been implemented with Colombia (2019), Mexico (2019), Chile (2020), Argentina (2023), and this year with Guatemala, the Netherlands, and the United States, which means that 75% of shipments are made with this technology.

In animal health, China recognized Peru as a country free of foot-and-mouth disease, which opens the door to exporting beef and pork.

SENASA continues to prevent and control diseases such as rabies in herbivores, classical swine fever, anthrax, blackleg, and goat brucellosis, having vaccinated more than five million animals throughout the country, benefiting more than 350,000 Peruvian producers.

In food safety, SENASA constantly works to promote good, responsible, and sustainable agricultural practices through implementing Field Schools. From 2019 to date, more than 85,000 producers have been trained in 4,119 Environmental Quality Standards focused on 25 agricultural products.

Seeking to increase the supply of safe primary agricultural food at the national level, SENASA plans to initiate a program to improve safety services for primary production and processing in 2025. This involves constructing three modern laboratories that will increase the number of foods analyzed at the national level and shorten the time it takes to obtain results to take timely action to avoid putting the health of the population at risk.
