Philippine government to build five AAA abattoirs

Agriculture Secretary Proceso J. Alcala anounced during the commencement of the 19th Meat Safety Consciousness Week and 39th Anniversary of National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) that the government is working to provide safe meat and meat products to the public 2011.

Alcala said that the Department of Agriculture has set aside P180M initial budget for the establishment of five ‘triple A’ slaughterhouses to enable pork producers and processors to supply the local market quality products and take advantage of the international market.
