The Argentine government obtained authorization from the Philippines to export poultry, pork, and new beef products. This achievement, reached by the joint work of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation and SENASA, involves external sales of poultry and pork, and the expansion to export beef with bone, offal, and fats, while including the recognition of the equivalence of the control and certification system of Argentina.
With this authorization, a period of 15 days is established for the official opening of the market and simultaneously allows the technical teams of the Philippine Sanitary Service to begin to evaluate the veterinary certificates already proposed by Argentina in order to begin exports from our country. The equivalence between the control systems of both countries is an advance that facilitates the authorization of new Argentine establishments interested in sending their meat production to that destination.
In 2023, the Philippines imported meat and meat by-products worth more than USD 1.75 million from all over the world. In turn, according to the Department of Agriculture of the Philippines, between January and October meat imports in the Philippines increased by 17% compared to the same period in 2023. Argentina is thus gaining a foothold in an important market with a growing demand.
