The first Vice Minister of Agriculture of Russia, Mr Dzhambulat Khatuov, held a work meeting regarding the development of the pig industry with the National Union of pig producers and companies, where the results of 2018 were presented and the goals for 2019 and the forecasts until 2024 were established.
According to the preliminary data, in 2018 the production volume reached 4.86 million tonnes in terms of liveweight, this entailing 6.2% more than in 2017. For 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture has established that the goal is to maintain these growth indices.
