Pig production in Russia is still growing

Between January and November 2017, Russian pig production increased by 6.5%.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, during the first 11 months of 2017, the production of pigs in agricultural organisations for their slaughter reached, in terms of live weight, 3.36 million tonnes, entailing a rise by 6.5% in comparison with 2016.

The largest growth in pig production was seen in the regions of Pskov, Kursk, Belgorod, Voronezh, Tver and Tambov, whilst there were drops in Krasnodar, Vologda, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl and the Republic of Udmurtia.
