The latest data provided by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture's statistics service estimates pork production in 2019 at 4,627,179 tonnes, an increase of 2.13% over 2018 (4,530,474 tonnes).
By autonomous communities, Catalonia was the largest producer of pork, with a total of 1.89 million t, a similar output to that of 2018, followed by Aragon with 685,643 t with a significant increase over the previous year (+7.78%) and Castile and Leon with 648,080 t (+2.3%). Castilla-La Mancha, in fourth place (396,028 t) was the autonomous community with the highest growth (+8.34%) while the Community of Madrid suffered the largest decrease (-22.2%), with a production of 51,640 t.

With regard to total meat production in Spain in 2019, which reached 7,248,529 t, pork accounted for 63.84 % of the total, followed by poultry (1,736,120 t) and beef (695,938 t).
