Pigmeat private storage aid to open in January

According to European Agriculture commissioner, Phil Hogan, private storage aid for pigmeat will be put into effect early in the New Year. The new aid scheme will be submitted to a vote the next December 2.

The new aid scheme will benefit from a 20 percent increase in storage rates and will include fresh lard.
