The Chief Veterinarian announced the 8th outbreak of ASF in pigs in Poland in 2022, based on the results of laboratory tests received from the State Veterinary Institute.
ASF outbreak No. 2022/8 was designated on July 15, 2022 on a farm where 5 pigs were kept, located in the village of Strzelczyn, municipality of Chojna, Gryfino County, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, i.e. in the restricted area II listed in the Annex to Commission Implementing Regulation (CPR) 2021/605.
On a farm where an outbreak of ASF has been detected, the Veterinary Inspectorate implements all measures related to the eradication of the disease, in accordance with procedures and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/687, including the culling and disposal of pigs, cleaning and disinfection, and designation of infected and at-risk areas.
