Taking into account that since November 2015, no cases of African swine fever in wild boar have been notified in the most Northern areas of Poland which are listed in Part II of the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU and that, in addition, surveillance and wild boar management practices have been applied in these areas, these facts indicate an improvement in the epidemiological situation in these areas. Accordingly, those areas of Poland should now be listed in Part I, instead of Part II, of that Annex.
On he other hand, between January and March 2017, few cases of African swine fever in wild boar were observed in the powiecie łosickim in Poland in an area currently listed in Part III of the Annex to Implementing Decision 2014/709/EU and in proximity to areas currently listed in Part I of that Annex. The occurrence of these cases constitutes an increase in the level of risk that needs to be taken into account. Accordingly, the relevant areas of Poland should now be listed in Part II, instead of Part I, of that Annex.
