On April 13, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development participated in the meeting organised by the Polish-Chinese Business Council.
During his speech, Marek Sawicki stressed that in the recent years the agri-food export to China had been growing dynamically. In 2007, it was only EUR 20 million and in 2014 it was as many as EUR 164 million. Our main export goods are chocolate and chocolate products, dairy products and meat.
Poland is trying to increase sale of food products. This purpose is to be served by, inter alia, participation in the SIAL Fair in Shanghai and the meeting of Minister Marek Sawicki with the head of AQSIQ (General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine) scheduled for the end of May. In particular, Poland is set on unblocking sale of pork. China introduced an embargo on Polish meat after detecting the first cases of African swine fever in the country.
