The Chief Veterinary Inspectorate of Poland confirmed the first case of African swine fever (ASF) in domestic pigs so far in 2023. The outbreak occurred on April 12 in the Province of Lower Silesia, near the border with the Czech Republic, in the municipality of Luban. Sixteen affected pigs were on the farm.
Over 1000 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar have been reported so far this year.
