Minister Marek Sawicki met with the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Erik Utembayev.
The Minister pointed out the fact that Kazakhstan still maintained barriers to the import of Polish cattle, swine and pork products. The talks concerned a possibility of removing them, with consideration to the regionalisation of the Polish territory in connection with the detected cases of ASF in wild boar.
The Ambassador stressed that Kazakhstan attached particular importance to cooperation with Poland in the area of agriculture. He pointed out that Kazakhstan was also interested in Polish technologies, knowledge and experience in the agri-food and machinery production. He also noticed a possibility of cooperating in the field of establishing Polish-Kazakh joint ventures and Polish direct capital investments in Kazakhstan, in the agri-food industry, including joint pilot projects in fruit-growing, agri-food processing and machinery production.
